biography   | Lara began teaching Yoga in the Annapolis, Washington D.C. and Baltimore in 2000. Fully insured and certified as a RYT 500 instructor with Yoga Alliance, graduate of the internationally acclaimed Nosara Yoga Institute and the combined rare experience of an intensive Iyengar apprenticeship 1998-2002, she brings a growing knowledge to the healing and ancient art of Yoga. Continuous studies in healing touch, anatomy, Kundalini and Ayurveda,  contribute to a strong knowledge of inner and outer functional alignment, greatly enhancing the classroom experience by both challenging her students and providing a safe and nurturing environment where the student learns from their own inherent wisdom and instinct. Lara is a Certified Reflexologist, receiving an advanced 200 hour degree from The Omega Institute in 2010, Lara is the owner of Feelin’ Good Studio in Annapolis, Kensington, and St. Michaels, Maryland.  A visual artist and Mendhi henna artist, painter, photographer and ceramic sculptor Lara creates visionary art sought worldwide for more than 25 years. Lara’s art expresses her playful and personal story telling using found objects, texture, color and clay, dissecting the juxtaposition of nature and industry.   A single mother of two energetic and loving boys, she is inspired by their compassion, openness and joyful enthusiasm. She has a B.A. in Theatre Design from the University of Maryland, College Park. A professional television production career with Nightline/ABC News 1987-1999 and National Geographic in addition to theater management and directorial internships with The Kennedy Center 1989-1992, Lara brings professional experience and versatility to her community and business, as a healer, artist and teacher.

Her teaching reflects attention to placement and alignment as well as fluidity of movement and the essential breath. Certified to teach Children’s Yoga , Prenatal Yoga, Interdisciplinary Yoga and Pranassage™ at the 500 RYT level, Lara can design a personal yoga program for each individual at any stage of life.

Her sensitivity, humility and creativity attract a loyal and committed following of students. Lara’s adaptability, being able to accommodate the absolute beginner as well as the more experienced student, coupled with her creativity and knowledge, has prompted students of all ages to search out and study with her.

Creator of Inspired Yoga Flow, Happy Hour Yoga,  Historical Annapolis Foundation’s Yoga in the Garden, Yoga After School programs for Elementary and Middle Schools in Annapolis and Baltimore and most recently the renowned  Yoga Ecstatic www.yogaecstatic.com, a monthly live music and yoga event acclaimed by Annapolis Yoga as an “event that felt like none that I’ve been to before. The practice itself was just plain outright fun!,” Lara brings yoga to unique outdoor and indoor spaces in the Annapolis area.  Voted Best Yoga in Annapolis by the Capital Newspaper Readers Choice Award 2009, Lara is honored to have the acknowledgement of our growing yoga community.
